Aquachem Primer 4.5L
Aquachem Primer is a 2 part epoxy coating that provides a tough, durable clear finish on floors and walls.
As a clear tanking and waterproofing solution, it is common to see it used on decorative stonework or feature brickwork where the owner wants the natural stone look but needs a waterproof solution. The Aquachem primer will give waterproofing from positive and negative pressure. So it will repel water on the outside on the substrate and also not allow water to seep from the substrate.
Normally, Aquachem primer is used to prepare the surface before the application of the two coats of Aquachem grey. It is possible however, if you are looking for a clear coating, to use three coats of primer.
The coating performs well in chemical resistance tests, making it ideal for kitchens, food production areas, medical areas and sterile environments.
Aquachem primer is a water based and solvent free making it ideal for treating confined areas such as basements, cellars and loft spaces.
Aquachem primer can be applied using a spray, brush or roller and works optimally when applied as three thin coats.
When combined with flakes it is possible to create decorative finishes and to use aggregates to create slip resistant surfaces.

How to use
Add the contents of Base A to the contents of the container Hardener Part B and mix well for 2 minutes until a uniform colour mix has been achieved
Mixing Tools
All Aquachem® 2-part systems must be mixed thoroughly using the recommended mixing paddle and low speed drill (150-450 rpm)
Application Method
Primer coat:
Following mixing of the 2 components this primer liquid material will be milky white. Empty the mixed liquid into a suitable paint tray. Wet the roller with the primer and make sure the main substrate. At corners and junctions revert to applying the mixed coating by brush. The milky white application will become translucent as the applied Aquachem® begins to cure.
Grey Top Coat(s):
Mix the 2 components as described for the primer coat. Place in a suitable paint tray, wet the roller with the grey top coat and repeat the application as described for the primer. Once the top coat is cured a subsequent oat may be applied repeating the same procedure.
*To ensure adequate adhesion of any overlaying surface treatment such as a cementitious screed, eg. Rendacrete ® or F Ball Stop Gap 1200, ensure there is a suitable angular aggregate lightly sprinkled/broadcast over the final coat of the wet Aquachem® system.
